Two Canadiens draft choices were among the 22 players named to the U.S. team which that compete in the world junior championships, beginning later this month in Ottawa.
University of Wisconsin defenceman Ryan McDonagh, a first-round pick in 2007, and forward Danny Kristo, a second-round pick this year, were named to the team. Kristo plays for the Omaha Lancers and was the only United States Hockey League player named to the team.
A third Canadiens prospect, defenceman P.K. Subban of the Belleville Bulls, is expected to be part of the Canadian team. Subban, who was part of Canada's gold medal team last year, was one of 38 players invited to the Team Canada training camp yesterday.
